McQueen's Evolution

Sooo, we can blame the crash of Nick Knight's Showstudio.com, presenting McQueen's first ever live stream of a fashion show straight from the runway, on Lady Gaga's tweet 30min before the show. Gaga, who has millions of tweeps, announced the premier of her new single at this already epic event, which introduced McQueen to millions, and the spectacle of the fashion show as live entertainment. Subsequently, there were A LOT of people watching and the server gave out 5 minutes into the show. You can watch the whole thing now at SHOWstudio.

The digital psychedelic reptile and sea inspired prints are killing me.

Love how McQueen is taking fashion democracy to the next level. Many RTW designers, including himself, have done a Target or H&M collection. But now everyone, not just industry insiders and the elite, can experience a fashion show at the same time. Bloggers can beat Conde Nast to a smitten or scathing review of a collection, ideas are co-opted by "fast fashion" sooner, and inspiration can go from the runway to the streets post haste.

Wonder if he's gonna make this a regular thing, and if other fashion houses will join the party?
I am putting a pic of these up on my vision board. I am officially in love, even though they'll make me a 6'4" disaster waiting to happen.
