As we embark on the S/S 2010 shows I'd like to look back, into the future of Rodarte's 2009 Spring Collection. I'm just not over it yet.
I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan. In these clips, you'll see that I am not alone. Ahem, James Kaliardos. CP30? Really? Luckily, for the momentum of the fashion world, the sisters Mulleavy are. With the epic space opera as their inspiration, they balanced their esoteric, edgy inclinations toward punk and sci-fi, with cinematic romanticism and whimsy. The shred and shine of their varied textures was served up in the the dreamiest of palettes, accompanied by shoes made with electrical wire, and gilded chignons. *Sigh*
What? No Chewbacca Furs? Too far?
This is a must see.
